In its Dec. 7, 2017 issue, the Centurion published an op-ed piece about a student who said she had pepper sprayed the so-called “radical reverend,” who has visited the Newtown campus numerous times to shout racist and homophobic statements at students. The article claimed that the college’s office of Security and Safety had released incorrect information about whether such an incident had occurred. This claim was incorrect. The Centurion staff regrets the error, and the paper’s editors do not in any way endorse the idea of engaging in physical confrontations with the “radical reverend.”
