The Philadelphia Phillies lost game 7 of the NLCS with a score of 2-4 to the Arizona DiamondBacks.

Phillies fans left Citizens Bank Park with disappointment and frustration after the Phils failed to enter the World Series.

Phillies fan Chris Fried says “The Phillies lost because they lost focus as a team. They took the 10-0 victory in Game 2 as a sign that the series was over. The Diamondbacks did not quit.” says Fried.

Chris continues “Starting in Game 3 and lasting through the rest of the series, the Phillies started hacking at any pitch thrown. No plate discipline. Kimbrel in Game 4 was pretty bad. What really crushed the Phillies, pitching wise, was Aaron Nola’s performance in Game 6. I attended that game in person. Nola’s inability to pitch well that night early deflated not only the ground but also his teammates. Nola will get paid big time this offseason, however, Game 6 showed that Nola is a good pitcher, but not an ace. Pity the fools that sign Nola to an overpaid contract. The Phillies should not have lost the series. The series should have been over in five games, much like the World Series will likely be.” ends Fried

“We had some people on base tonight. We couldn’t get the big hit,” says Philadelphia Phillies Manager  Rob Thomson who led the fightin Phils to two straight National League Championship Series and last year’s World Series . When Thomson briefly talks about his contract extension, he states “My whole career, I’ve never worried about my contract. I’ve never worried about getting fired. Because I can’t control it. I just can’t. So I leave it alone, I put my head down, I do my work, and whatever happens, happens.” ends Thomson.

Despite saddened fans, there was still cheers, fans in their red, people high fiving, and still optimism for the next Phillies season. Philadelphia was still crowded with fans praising and celebrating that the Phils made it this far and they hope to make a comeback.

As of November 2 2023, Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto, Kyle Schwarber, and Trea Turner are named Silver Slugger Award Finalists.

As of November 1st, The Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5 with a score of 5-0. Making history as the Rangers first World Series win after 52 seasons.
