New Boss at Centurion

Ari Halbkram, 20; a journalism major from Yardley, has stepped up as this semester’s Editor-in-Chief. With his long-standing relationship with The Centurion, it was only natural that Ari would accept the position as Editor-in-Chief, previously serving as both an assistant editor, and Entertainment Editor in past semesters.

Halbkram sees a lot of potential that has yet to be tapped into. Halbkram feels that the paper has a better chance of getting on track now then in any other time during his relationship with it because of the people who are currently involved.

“We have such a great group of people involved, I want them to stay and come back next semester,” Halbkram said.

Halbkram wants the paper to become more of a voice for the students, something for them to express themselves in.

“We don’t have a right to dictate what [students] should be reading… we do have an obligation to meet their expectations,” Halbkram said.

Halbkram hopes that The Centurion will become a vital tool for students while at Bucks.

“I would like to see more people that know what’s going on around campus because they read it in our paper.”

In order to accomplish this, the paper has launched a new interactive website (www.bucks-news.com) which already boasts a healthy readership.

The new website, new guidance, and the unveiling of a new layout, complete with a great staff and an influx of new writers will create a paper that’s, “more user friendly and geared towards our audience,” Halbkram promises.

“We’re on the right track,” he said. “I’m very optimistic.”
