SIFE Member Teaches in Panama for Summer

Bucks student Krystina Connolly spent six days this summer, from Aug. 3-8, teaching kids in Panama the fundamentals of business.

Krystina is a third-year member of Students in Free Enterprise. SIFE is a worldwide organization that helps prospective business people get a hang for what they do.

Krystina taught 258 kids from grades Kindergarten to third about the four P’s: Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. The program was very successful. The children especially loved their mascot, which according to Krystina was “…ridiculously hot.”

This was Krystina’s second time in Panama this summer. The first time she taught 13-17 year olds the value of entrepreneurship and responsibilities. 33 kids turned out for the three-day camp. The kids formed groups to develop a business plan, then present it. Krystina was not in Panama long enough to see the presentations live, but she was able to see them on the web cast.

This is Krystina’s second year as president of SIFE. She will be graduating in May with an Associates degree in business administration.

Krystina hopes to win an All Academic Team scholarship with her efforts, which will give her a full ride to the school of her choice.

SIFE is in 33 countries and thousands of colleges and Universities across the U.S. Best of luck to Krystina in all her future endeavors.
