Student Clubs Center provides a meeting place for students

College is a time when students
have the freedom to pursue passions
and interests with likeminded
people
To take advantage of this collegiate
experience, Bucks has employed
a strong effort to build a
community of clubs and organizations
that allows students a chance
to grow, both personally and professionally.
Bucks’Newtown campus offers
students in official clubs and organizations
a place to schedule
and conduct activities through the
Student Life Office.
The Student Life Office located
in Room 112 of the Rollins Center
provides information regarding
clubs or organizations that Bucks
students might join.
Matt Cipriano, director of Student
Life Programs, says the Student
Life Office has one goal to
reach.
“The great thing about the Student
Life Office is that we are all
on the same page in improving the
student’s experience here. We are
trying to build a sense of school
pride that all three campuses can
be involved in,” he said.
Bucks has established a Student
Clubs Center specifically to provide
clubs a space to conduct business,
have meetings, or pursue
other activities relating to the organization.
There are computers, storage
spaces, and meeting rooms for
students to use as they need. The
Student Clubs Center is located
directly next to the Student Life
Office on the Newtown campus.
Increasing student morale
through the Student Life Office
includes providing clubs and organizations
rooms they can use
for their activities on a daily basis.
“We’re very excited about the
Fireside lounge upgrades as well
as our whole second floor being
completely redone. We want students
to be comfortable when
learning and also while participating
in extracurricular activities,”
says Cipriano.
If interested, joining a club is
easy. A listing of each organization
is provided at
http://www.bucks.edu/life/clubs_
orgs.php. After finding which
club(s) you’d like to join, just fill
out a club interest form and submit
it to the Student Life Office.
“Meetings are scheduled usually
on Tuesdays and Thursdays in
the Student Club Center between
the different groups. If students
want to learn more about specific
groups, the Student Life Office
will be able to provide information
on getting them connected,”
says Cipriano.
An adviser for each club should
have a contact number provided.
If that is not the case, contact
Carol Brandt at
[email protected] and she can
put you in touch with the prospective
club.
If you cannot find a club that fits
what you’re aiming for, there is always
an option to start a new one.
There is a basic process of filling
out paperwork, recruiting a faculty
or staff member to act as an
official adviser, and creating a
club constitution. Then a majority
of the members of the Student
Government Association must
vote to approve the club.great part of the college experience
and should be taken advantage
of. With facilities such as the
Student Club Center available, it
is a fantastic opportunity to make
new friends, enhance your resume,
or even just have fun.
