Online shopping the easy way out for students

With little time to go out and
shop for the perfect gift students
at Bucks are preparing to buy
presents online.
KellyAdams, 19, an elementary
education major, works several
jobs to save up for the holidays.
“I work so many hours between
jobs that I rarely have time to go
out and look around for deals.
Online shopping can be done with
a click of a button,” says Adams.
Often, online stores can offer the
same or a similar item for the
same price, or sometimes even
less.
Jimmy Tepel, 19, a physical education
major, plans on shopping
online in order to save money on
gas. “You don’t have to drive all
around to different places. To me,
online is cheaper in the long run.”
Time constraints are big part of
why students are doing their shopping
online.
With projects and finals to prepare
for, students have even less
time to spend on holiday shopping.
Stores are usually open until
9 or 10 at night, but online stores
have made it possible for customers
to shop at anytime.
“Stores are only open so many
hours a day. If I only have an hour
or so break from work or studying,
I can buy things online
quickly, and then get back to
work,” says Adams.
Stocks of goods found online
are usually more diverse and more
plentiful, because a website isn’t
strapped for space the same way
the stores are, making online
stores less likely to sell out of an
item than the local shops.
