Pierce College Transfer Program

Bucks County Community College recently signed a dual-admissions agreement with Peirce College. The agreement allows Bucks students to transfer to the Philadelphia-based business college to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Peirce offers degrees in business administration, information technology, and paralegal studies.

There are now close to 30 colleges and universities with which BCCC has some kind of transfer agreement. In addition, 33 schools provide course equivalent information so students can maximize their Bucks experience.

They can choose courses that will transfer to these other institutions with full credit. This shows that a Bucks education matches the high standards set by many institutions of higher learning.

Transfer agreements are an important part of the BCCC educational program because more than 70 percent of Bucks graduates transfer their credits in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.

Among the other schools, which have transfer arrangements, are Temple University, Delaware Valley College, Drexel University, Gwynedd-Mercy College, LaSalle University, and Penn State- Abington.

There are several different types of agreements each with their own set of requirements. It is imperative that students carefully plan their course selections to meet the requirements of specific institutions.

They must also be aware of any additional prerequisites, such as GPA acceptance standards, and additional needed course work.

“Students desiring to complete a Bachelor’s degree at another school should start planning as early as possible,” said Barbara Ford, BCCC coordinator of transfer.

She advises interested students to contact the office as soon as they start at Bucks or at as soon as they decide to go further in their education. This will help ensure a smooth and successful transfer experience.

For a complete list of the institutions with transfer agreements and more information on the transfer program, visit the BCCC web site at www. bucks.edu/transfer or visit the Transfer Office located on 2nd floor Rollins across from the cafeteria.
