Audiolab Vinyl Record store celebrated its grand opening on August 23 with face painting, live music, and food trucks.
David Levitan, owner of Audiolab believes he is passing his passion for music to the next generation. “The record store is a love. Being surrounded by all of these young people I hired brings out my inner child” said Levitan.
The Morrisville based record store had a exceeded all expectations when a whopping 700 people filled their record store throughout their event.
Vinyl has been spinning back into mainstream in recent years, thanks to its vintage look and its nostalgic appeal to people. Sales have been rising steadily for the past fifteen years. They hit their peak at the start of 2020 and have only increased since the present day.
Music lovers of all ages are discovering the warm, rich sound and tactile experience of vinyl, and record stores are not only booming with sales but also making a huge comeback for physical media as well.
Vinyl records can be compared for providing better quality due to their natural sound, compared to digital formats. Mr. Levitan, whose been in the industry since he was 14 years old stated, “The physical grooves on a vinyl record contain a continuous sound wave, with a more detailed sound experience.”
The vinyl itself is not the only thing of importance that draws in consumers, as the artwork is also an intricate factor. The covers provide a canvas for stunning artwork to be created. Often complementing the music inside.
At Audiolab Vinyl Record Store, customers can search for specific rare collections, ranging from blues, pop, alternative, and country. Prices vary from new and used records, with some as low as $1.
Audiolab offers a selection of CDs and tapes with the convenience of onsite purchasing available for CD players and turntables.
In addition to their selection of music, Audiolab offer both stereo and home entertainment set ups.
The staff were welcoming on their grand opening and offered tours of their 3-story lab where guests can check out their home theater room and surround sound speakers.
Mr. Levitan created an amazing staff that makes you feel extremely welcomed and listened to when you enter the store.
Levitan wanted to create an environment where everyone felt welcome, regardless of their background. He truly believes that music is food for the soul, and that no matter what differences people have in the world, they come together with the sound of melody.
“Not everyone loves meatloaf, but everyone loves music.” Said Levitan. His expansion and love for music shows not only through his character but his knowledge as well.
